Clay 'Handscapes', moss and silk thread on concrete

‘Fall of Icarus’ is a site-specific sculptural installation which attempts to re-imagine the painting ‘Landscape with the Fall of Icarus’ by Pieter Breughel.
It deals with themes of an existential nature and their complex relationship with the everyday or mundane.
The work attempts to create a ‘landscape’, or dreamscape which references the painting at the same time as drawing attention to characteristics of the space, and transforming the gallery into a place of contemplation.
