I am a multi-media artist working in areas of sculpture, assemblage, print, and video. With an architectural background, my work is multifarious and generative, borrowing from an eclectic but interconnected range of topics and sources.
My practice is underpinned by the constant battle between the rational and emotional thinking that characterise the human position. Addressing themes of complexity, contradiction, and ambiguity, the work explores transience, intangibility, and ‘the in-between’—the liminal spaces on the threshold of opposing extremes where our understanding of a thing shifts and mutates.
Often it is the complexities inherent in human relationships that fuel my work; themes of conflict, power dynamics, and nurture are translated into form, with ready-made objects and materials subjected to often destructive experimental processes or repair.
